Priority Category Ration Cards in Kerala

Ration Cards in Kerala is going to take an all new form implemented new Food Security Act (FSA). As per officials, FSA is going to be launched by 1st November this year and they are going to ration cards based on APL and BPL categories.APL and BPL category ration cards will now be replaced with “priority” sector cards.

Distribution of new ration cards (As per FSA) will be completed by March 15, 2017. Government has issued the list of eligible person/applicants who will be enrolled under priority list ration cards. In case someone have ant issues with released list then they are free to register complain at Taluk Civil Supply offices. You will have to register complaints before October 30, 2016.

Criteria for Priority Ration Cards in Kerala

Priority ration cards in state will replace existing APL and BPL categories. Families meeting any of the below condition will be exempted from this list:

• 1+ acre of land
• 100+ sq feet house
• Owns a four wheelers
• Income tax payers
• Government employee
• Employee working in public sector banks

Karnataka Government is going to track bogus ration cards in state very strictly now. This step has been taken after recent incident where duplicate BPL ration cards were identified at 950 fair price shops. As per the official statement, strict action will be taken against all the culprits and all 950 bogus cards will be seized completely. Cleansing process has started and as per the latest reports, about 1.6 lakh bogus ration cards are seized till now.

It is state capital Bengaluru where most of the cases are filed. Department is tagging all the cases as per Essential Commodities Act and the Indian Penal Code. Official sources are further planning to eradicate the reach of private bodies for distributing foodstuffs at Fair Price Shops (FPS). They are looking out at the ways to run all 20000 FPS through Government recognized bodies only.
