• You will get below screen:
• You need to fill in all the details here. Details you need to fill in include Family Head’s Name, Mobile Number, State (that is Chandigarh), Tehsil/Taluk/SubDistrict, District, Village, OTP that you receive on the mobile number.
• Once you enter these details, hit the submit button. You will be redirected to another official page where you will have to submit scanned copies of various required documents.
Required documents for Ration Card in Chandigarh
• Scanned passport size photo of head of the family. Size must not exceed 100 KB and photo format should be either GIF or JPG.
• Scanned copy of enclosure in GIF or JPG format. Size must not exceed 200 KB.
• Scanned ID Proof (Aadhar Card, Voting Card, Driving License, PAN Card, etc)
• Scanned proof of residence (it can be any one of these: BSNL or MTNL telephone bill, electricity bill copy, Landlord NOC with ID proof, rent agreement, water bill etc)
• Affidavit, Deletion certificate, Old ration card, Surrender certificate in case you want to issue duplicate ration card or want to make changes in the existing one
Upload all these documents and submit the final application. Food inspector will visit your home to verify all the details. Once verified, you will be issued new ration card within 15 days (duration may be different from place to place).
Types of Ration Card in Chandigarh and how to get them?
You can apply for below ration card types in Chandigarh:
Above Poverty Line APL Ration Card
Issued to families with household income more than the poverty line index. In order to get one, you need to submit your application duly attested from either Gazetted Officer (in urban areas) or Village Sarpanch (in rural area). You will also have to submit two family photographs.
Below Poverty Line BPL Ration Card
It is issued to families with income less than Rs. 432.9 per capita per month. It is issued in yellow color and is given special subsidy rates. Application form and photographs will be same as that of APL case mentioned above.
In addition to this you will have to submit and affidavit clearly stating that applicant does not have a colored television, refrigerator or scooter and his income is not more that Rs. 432.9 per capita per month.
Antyodya Card or Green Ration Card
This type of ration card is issued to poorest kind of families. It is issued to families with monthly income less than Rs. 250. Besides this, it can also be issued to:
• Senior citizens without societal support
• Widows
• Handicapped people
Please note that applicant must not have a colored TV, refrigerator or scooter.
Application process is similar to BPL card.
