Different Types of Ration Cards in Tamil Nadu?

  • Public Distribution System in Tamil Nadu has three types of cards based on the income of a family they are given below:
  • All Commodity cards (Green colour): issued to cardholders choosing rice as well as all other essential commodities.
  • Sugar cards (White): issued to people opting for sugar instead of rice.
  • No commodity cards (White): issued to cardholders who do not wish to get any commodity under Public Distribution System.

Eligibility to apply for a new TamilNadu Ration Card:

The applicant and his/her family must be

  • Indian citizens
  • Living and cooking separately
  • ordinarily resident in Tamil Nadu
  • The applicant or his family members must not possess any family or ration card in any State in India
  • The applicant or any of his/her family members must not be a member in any other family card in Tamil Nadu
  • The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives

How to New TamilNadu Ration Card Details is processed in Tamil Nadu?

  • A filled in Application (in the new format above) should be signed or thumb-impression and submitted along other documents required.
  • The application form filed by you is sent for field verification.
  • Officers will come for verification and visit the house of the applicant and makes sure that the applicant is living and cooking separately and to verify the use of LPG by the family.
  • When inspecting house the officer may ask for proof of identity (official ID card) before letting him inspect the premises.
  • Within 30 days of the application being filed the inspection will be done by the AC or TSO office. In case, the inspection by the officer concerned does not happen within 30 days, please talk to the Assistant Commissioner or Taluk Supply Officer concerned.
  • After all the above process if the application is found fit by the Assistant Commissioner or Taluk Supply Officer concerned as per the above eligibility conditions, then the application is approved and sent for printing of the family card.

The newly formed Telangana state has already started issuing the New Ration cards to the Telangana people. How to Search your Telangana Ration Card Details online

  • Go to the Government of Telangana food and civil supplies official Website at http://epds.telangana.gov.in/FoodSecurityAct/
  • Click on “Search” on the left menu in the homepage
  • Select your District in the field provided
  • To get the ration card details through your Aadhaar number then select “Aadhaar No” Option and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar card number to check Ration card details online
  • Otherwise if you have Old Ration card number than select “Old RC No” or if you have “FSCRefNo” than enter your FSCRef No.
  • Once done with entering the details and submitting you will get your Ration card details online.

Department of Food and Civil Supplies and its functions

As in the case of many states in the country the Civil Supplies Department was actually just a regulatory Department. About Hindu Marriages Act,1955 : A Hindu Marriage can be registered under this Act after it is solemnised. The registration can be done by the Sub-registrar of either the place of the solemnisation or the place of the residence of either the bride or the bridegroom. The District Registrar/DIG concerned are also competent to register marriages under this Act.

Registration of marriage under Hindu Act: The wife or spouse can apply in the office hours of the office to find out whether the residence of the sub-divisional magistrate will be in the area.

  • Select the district and proceed.
  • The husband should fill in the table of details. You have to choose an appointment date.
  • Click “Submit Application“
  • The temporary number will be assigned. It will be printed on acknowledgement slip.

Appointment

The Hindu Marriage Act will get an appointment within 15 days after applying online. The marriage may take up to 60 days under special law.

Tatkal Marriage certificate

1) Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) : Old people, widows, disabled person, without family or societal support, landless labourer.

AAY Scheme – Foograins procured from FCI at Govt. subsidized rate of Rs.3.00 per kg for Rice and are being distributed to the identified beneficiaries at the same rate on production of Special Ration Cards been issued to them through FPS/VCs outlet at the scale of 35 kgs per household per month.

PHH Scheme –Welfare Institution & Hostels Scheme – Foodgrains procured from FCI at BPL rate mentioned above and distributed through the State Govt. appointed Agency.

SC/ST/OBC Hostels Scheme – Foodgrains procured from FCI at BPL rate mentioned above and distributed through the State Govt. appointed Agency.

Districts Offices. However, Under NFSA the Government of India has earmarked i.e 79.83% in the Rural & 61.98% as per Census 2011. Accordingly, basing on the eligibility, identification has been carried out involving District Administration and Town Committee Members in Urban Areas and Village Councils/VDBs in Rural Areas. Hence, inclusion of any new beneficiary can be accommodated as and when beneficiary(ies) expires / beneficiary (ies) become ineligible or directives from the GOI, for enhancement of beneficiaries.
