Narsipatnam Municipality is constuted as Grade – III Municipality in the year 2011 by adjoining surrounding Balighattam and Pedaboddepalli major Panchayats vide G.O.Ms.No.571 MA & UD (Elec-I) Department dated 28.12.2011. it is surrounded over an area of 41.95 Sq. Kms. with a population of 61540 (2011 census). The holy tomb or the resting place of the revolutionary Indian freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju is located in Krishna Devi Peta village of Narsipatnam.

Location:

Narsipatnam is located 71 Km from the district head quarters i.e., Visakhapatnam and its geographical measures are 17.67°N 82.62°E. It has an average elevation of 58 metres (190 feet).

Demographics

As of 2011 Census of India, the town had a population of 61540. The total population comprises, 29924 males and 31616 females, a sex ratio of 1050 females per 1000 males, higher than the national average of 940 per 1000.

Climate and Rainfall:

Narsipatnam has a tropical climate. The summers are much rainier than the winters in Narsipatnam. The temperature here averages 27.4 °C. The rainfall here averages 1208 mm.

Palasa–Kasibugga Municipality Details

Palasa–Kasibugga is a town in Srikakulam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipality and the mandal headquarters of Palasa mandal.It is located on the National Highway 5 between Srikakulam and Berhampur. The city is nicknamed as White Gold City because of cashew processing industries.

As of 2011 census of India, Palasa-Kasibugga had a population of 57,507 with 14,195 households. The total population constitute, 28,131 males and 29,376 females —a sex ratio of 1044 females per 1000 males. 5,609 children are in the age group of 0–6 years, of which 2,887 are boys and 2,722 are girls —a ratio of 943 girls per 1000 boys. The average literacy rate stands at 75.68% with 39,276 literates, significantly higher than the state average of 67.41%.

Palasa is located at 18.46N 84.25E. It has an average elevation of 38 meters (127 feet). The town has an area of 32.75 km2 (12.64 sq mi).

Agro exports There are around 350 cashew processing industries around Palasa town, the highest amongst the northern coastal districts. These twin towns are the largest cashew producing towns of Andhra Pradesh and are among the largest processing centres in India. The cashew industry provides direct and indirect employment to about 15,000 people in the surrounding areas.Palasa-Kasibugga Municipality is called as White Gold City because in Palasa Kasibugga Cashew processing industries are one of the promising sector producing valuable commodity exported to Gulf, European and Western countries.

The Community Health Centre, Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad is located here. It can hold 50 inpatients
The railway station a major station in State. It is common for both the towns. Even though the station is named “Palasa” it is located in Kasibugga. This station is one of the biggest railway stations with highest revenue in the Khurda Road division of East Coast Railway zone. Palasa has a good transport facility from all major cities.

Ratty, Akkupally, Metturu & Thoturu (Hanuman Saagar) beaches are nearly 14 km from Palasa railway station.
Palasa is an assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Palasa, Mandasa and Vajrapu Kotturu mandals comes under this jurisdiction.

Amudalavalasa Municipality Details

Amadalavalasa is a town in Srikakulam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipality and also the mandal headquarters of Amadalavalasa mandal. The town is spread over an area of 19.65 km2 (7.59 sq mi), which is under the jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority

Geography

Amadalavalasa is located at 18.4167°N 83.9000°E.It has an average elevation of 29 metres (98 feet).

History

Amadalavalasa means ‘the town of castor oil’. During the times of Ashoka, this place was called Herandapalli. Heranda in Sanskrit means castor oil. Ironically, there are no castor oil plants being grown or castor oil being produced in this place.

Iron Age habitation

Evidence of early historic man and his activities have been recently discovered on the hills of Sangamayya Konda, in Amudalavalasa mandal.

Buddhism and Jainism

Sangamayya Konda

Sangamayya Konda is 3 km from Amudalavalasa. It was a Buddhist site and is known for the Jain vestiges and Buddhist monasteries excavated recently. A freelance archaeologist conducted recent explorations on the hills of Sangamayya Konda and found several pre-historic Dolmen, Menhir, Cave, Caverns and Cisterns.

Danthapuri (Danthavarapukota)

Danthapuri (Danthavarapukota) is one of the historical places near Amadalavalasa. This village is between Amudalavalasa and Hiramandalam. Ancient Buddha stupas are present in this place.

As of 2001 India census ,Amadalavalasa had a population of 37,852. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%.

Features

There is a large-scale sugar factory in Amadalavalasa, presently not working. Other industries like jute, oil etc. are located at that town.

Narsapur Municipality Details

Narsapur was made III rd Grade Municipality in the year 1956. Later it was upgraded to 2nd Grade Municipality in the year 1965 and again upgraded to 1st Grade Municipality in the year 2001. Narsapur Municipality consists of 31 wards and 48 Slums in an area of 11.52 Sq. Kms. As per the Census 2011 the population of the Town as 58,901.

LOCATION:

Narsapur Town is located at 16.32’ North latitude and 81 42’ East longitude, in the Southern part of West Godavari District. It is a rail bead on the Narsapur-Nidadavole branch line. It is situated at the outer edge of the town towards Western side. It is located on side of the Vasista River bank Buses bound for Nidadavole, Eluru, Bhimavaram, Tanuku and Hyderabad starting this place Narsapur was first constituted into a Municipality in 1956.

CLIMATE AND RAINFALL:

The climate of the town is characterized by an apperceive summer season good seasonal rainfall. The average annual rainfall in the Narsapur region is about 149 cms. Or 58.66 inches which is more that the average annual rainfall in West Godavari District, About 108 cms. Or 42.59’ inches. The rainfall during South West monsoon season (June to September) constitutes about 70 percent of the annual rainfall. During the North-East monsoon period i.e., in October and November months, as much as 25 percent of annual rainfall is received. The period from November to about the middle of February is the coolest part of the year. The mean daily maximum temperature being about 30 C and the mean daily minimum about 18 C from about the middle of February temperature begins to rise rapidly till may, the hottest month of the year with the mean daily maximum temperature at 41.6 C. The Moist beat during the summer months is very trying and the day temperatures at a time exceed 43 C during May and early June. The air is humid throughout the year. The driest per the year is the period from February to May or early June when the relative humidifies are generally between 45 and 55 percent in the afternoon. Winds are generally light with some strengthening in force in the South-West monsoon season South-Westerly to Westerly winds prevail in the South-West monsoon season.

WATER SUPPLY :

Narsapur got its protected Water Supply Scheme in 1981 at a cost of Rs.68.42 Lakhs with the Narsapur – Mogalthur canal as the source of Water supply. The scheme consists of one Summer storage tank with a capacity of 120 Mgs., where water is filtered and a service reservoir into which the filtered water is sent and distributed to the town. The scheme, which was initially designed for an ultimate population of 46,000 is not able to cater to the existing population.

TRADE AND INDUSTRY :

Narsapur town serves as an outlet for marketing the agricultural produce of its hinterland. The main crops grownups in the region are Paddy, Green grains, Mangoes and Fruits also Coconuts. There are 10 Rice mills providing sizzle employment to the people of the town. Flour mills, Saw mills are the other industries located in the town. The town is endowed with a rice hinterland which has an extensive land were paddy is grow profusely. Agro-industries based on the this raw material have got good prospects for their location in and around the town.

TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATION’S :

Narsapur is located on the Tadepalligudem- Narsapur State Highway. Narsapur is a rail. Head on the Nidadavol-Narsapur Broad Gauge branch line, mass transportation is being made by the road and rail. Narsapur is being the terminus for a good number of trains. Narsapur has direct trains to Hyderabad, Shirdi, Bombay, Calcutta and Madras, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati. Mass transportation by road is being made mainly by the APSRTC. The local municipality maintains a total length of about 46.5 kms of roads and streets within the limits of the town. The State highways and other district road sections which pass through the limits of the town are being maintained by the Roads & Buildings Department.

RESOURCE REGION :

The Town is an Urban Centre for a region covering about 70 villages depending on Narsapur Town for marketing their agricultural produce and providing their consumer needs. The region around the Narsapur Town is a vast expanse of irrigated land, commercial land served under the Godavari Western delta by the Nidadavole – Mogaltur canal, which traverses over 38 kilometers before joining the Upputeru about 80% of the cultivated area in the region is being irrigated under the Godavari Western Delta System, converting the delta area into an expanse of vast paddy fields where failure of crops for want of water is in know. The soil in the region are predominantly sandy and Black cotton Soils and delta soils which are highly fertile and suitable for the cultivation of paddy, Green/ Black grains. As many as 10 Rice Mills are located in and around the town. A cooperation society under name of Narsapur Co-operation Agriculture and Industrial Society Limited was located in the region middle of the town.

RATE OF THE TOWN:

Narsapur is trading centre of considerable importance in West Godavari District. The daily market. Dry Fish market was hole on every Monday and Thursday. The Town serves as a well as whole sale market for all consumer needs. The town is well connected with its hinterlands by road communications. The APSRTC is operating daily its own bus services to places like Hyderabad, Eluru, Kakinada, Bhimavaram, Vijayawada, Guntur, Thirupathi, Rajahmundry and also run interstate services from Narsapur Town. Narsapur has direct rail connection to Hyderabad, Calcutta, Bombay, Madras, Vijayawada etc., There are two Government Degree Colleges and Two Private junior Colleges. A Government Hospital is also located in the town. Sivalayam Temple is located in the town and much sanctity is attached to this temple which drawn huge crowds even on the ordinary days.

CULTURE:

Godavari Pushkaram is celebrated every twelve years in Narasapuram to take a holy dip in the Vasista Godavari River. This river is said to have been brought in by the famous Maharishi Vashishtha, one of the sevenI great sages of the Hindu Mythology. The place draws people from the world over throughout the year. Antarvedi, the merging of the Bay of Bengal and Vasista River, which is a tributary of the River Godavari. The place of confluence of the ocean and river is called the “Sapta Sagara Sangam Pradesam”. It is also known as the Anna Chelli Gattu (meaning brother–sister embankement)

Nandigama Municipality Details

Nandigama mandal is one of the 50 mandals in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a Nagara Panchayat under the administration of Vijayawada revenue division and the headquarters are located at Nandigama.The mandal is bounded Penuganchiprolu, Kanchikacherla, Chandarlapadu mandals and also a portion of it by the state of Telangana.

Geography:

Nandigama is located 49 km West of Vijayawada and 46 km east of Kodad.

Administration:

Nandigama Nagar Panchayat is the civic administrative body of the town which was constituted in the year 2011. It has an area of 25.90 km2 (10.00 sq mi). The municipal chairman of Nandigama Nagar Panchayat is Yeragorla.Padmavathi and the vice-chairman is V.Ashok Kumari.

The mandal is partially a part of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region under the jurisdiction of APCRDA.

Politics:-

Nandigama a part of Nandigama (SC) (Assembly constituency) for Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. It is a reserved constituency for Scheduled Castes. Thangirala Sowmya is the present MLA of the constituency from Telugu Desam Party. It is also a part of Vijayawada (Lok Sabha constituency) which was won by Kesineni Srinivas of Telugu Desam Party.
