Narsipatnam Municipality is constuted as Grade – III Municipality in the year 2011 by adjoining surrounding Balighattam and Pedaboddepalli major Panchayats vide G.O.Ms.No.571 MA & UD (Elec-I) Department dated 28.12.2011. it is surrounded over an area of 41.95 Sq. Kms. with a population of 61540 (2011 census). The holy tomb or the resting place of the revolutionary Indian freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju is located in Krishna Devi Peta village of Narsipatnam.
Location:
Narsipatnam is located 71 Km from the district head quarters i.e., Visakhapatnam and its geographical measures are 17.67°N 82.62°E. It has an average elevation of 58 metres (190 feet).
Demographics
As of 2011 Census of India, the town had a population of 61540. The total population comprises, 29924 males and 31616 females, a sex ratio of 1050 females per 1000 males, higher than the national average of 940 per 1000.
Climate and Rainfall:
Narsipatnam has a tropical climate. The summers are much rainier than the winters in Narsipatnam. The temperature here averages 27.4 °C. The rainfall here averages 1208 mm.
