Location

It is located 480 Kms from capital city and 100 kms from district headquarters it was established as a 3rd Grade Municipality in the year 01-10-1963. There are 4 zones/and 31 election wards in this Municipality.

Topography

Rayadurg Municipality is located in 76°51’31” Longitude and 14°0’00”Latitude.

Climate and Rainfall

Rayadurg Town, in general, has a tropical climate, winters last November to February, while summers last from March to June. The annual rainfall is 77.5 mm, most of it received during the months of Oct’2015.

Demograpy

The population of the town which was in 54,127 in 2001 increased to 62,017 in 2011[update] census with an increase of 14.5% in the last decade. The sex ratio is 999 females for 1000 male. The literacy rate is 55%. of the male population and 45% of the female population are literate.

Environmental issues

This municipality is taken up Tree Plantation and planted nearly 10000 plants in municipal area for this year. 5 no.s of parks are maintaining by this municipality.

Urban Poor

Rayadurg Municipality has notified 19 slums and 33,971 population. The social security pensions provided details as follows.

The SC, ST, BC and Minorities peoples are providing Minority subsidy loans of this Municipality, and SHG Groups – 1023 are formed at present. The schemes like Vaddileni Runalu, Bank Linkages , Insurance Policies are providing to the SHGs. The schemes sanctioned to this municipality allotted the separate allocation SCs and STs for execution of works.

History & Culture

Rayadurg was originally a stronghold of ‘Bedars’ (‘Boya Palegars’) who were very turbulent during the Vijayanagar rule. The emperor deputed an officer driving then out and ruled place himself and the hill was thus called “Bhupatirayakonda”. After the battle of ‘Rakshasa Tangadi’, the Bedars regained the place, but were again driven out after some time by ‘Koneti Nayak’. His son ‘Venkatapathi Nayak’ who had differences with the ‘Palegar’ of Chittaldurg greatly strengthened the fortifications. Tippu Sultan captured the fort and made it a part of his Gooty province.

Economy

Rayadurg Municipality financial position is very poor and is maintained deficit. Due to implementation of financial reforms from last 40 years and following of rules and regulations strictly in financial matters there is an amount of Rs.7.5 crores balance funds are available with this municipality.

The market value of the assets of the municipality includes buildings, vacant lands, markets are arrived Rs.87.86 Lakhs.

Amalapuram Municipality Details

Amalapuram is a town, municipality and revenue division in East Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.

It is 60 km from Greater Rajahmundry city .

It is at the head of the Konaseema delta, the triangle formed by the waters of the Godavari River.

The delta’s black cotton soil is very fertile and crops including coconut and rice are grown in it.

Kakinada and Rajahmundry are towns close to Amalapuram. It is third biggest in East godavari After rajahmundry and kakinada cities.

It is the Lok Sabha Constituency in which the former Speaker Ganti Mohana Chandra Balayogi was elected.

Amalapuram has temples to Venkateswara, Subrahmanyeswara and Chandramouleeswara. The town is known for Vedic culture.

Tanuku Municipality Details

Tanuku Municipality is 4th largest ULB in the West Godavari District of A.P. it is spread over an area of 24.83.Sq.kms. with a population of 90430 (2011 census). It is known for / famous for its Rocket Fuel Manufacturing Unit.

Location

It is located 165 kms. From Capital City (Amaravathi ), and 72 kms. From District Headquarters. It was established as Grade II Municipality in the year 1979 and upgraded as Grade I in the Year 2002. There are 34 Election Wards in this Municipality.

Chittoor Municipality Details

CHITTOOR Corporation is one of the largest ULB in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh. It is spread over an area of 95.97 Sq Kms. With a Population of 1,89,332 (2011 Census).

Location :

It is located 490 Kms from Capital city and 02 Kms. From District Headquarters. It was established as Third Grade Municipality in the year 1917. There are 50 Election wards in this Municipality.

Topography :

Climate and Rainfall :

Chittoor town has moderate and healthy climate because it is dry and never unbearably hot. The town receives scanty rainfall both from South- west and North – East Monsoon.

The town is situated in the midst of many isolated hills and masses of rocks. The Neeva River flows along the western part from South-West to North-East. Many small tanks are located in-and-around the town. Poor settlements were mostly developed on the hill areas, the banks of feeder channels, tank bunds and porambokes.

Demography:

The population of the town is 1,52,654 in 2001 census, showing decadal growth rate of 7.67% from a population of 1,33,462 as per the 1991 census. Out of total population, SCs constitute 21679 while the STs constitute 1174. The sex ratio in the town is 1000: 985. The literacy rate of the town is 84.60%.

Economy :

The economy is basically agro-based, being marketing centre for Sugarcane, Jaggery, Mango produced in abundance. The majority of the population of the town is basically dependent on agriculture or agro-related activities

Environmental issues :

The town is situated in the midst of many isolated hills and masses of rocks. The Neeva River flows along the western part from South-West to North-East. Many small tanks are located in-and-around the town. Poor settlements were mostly developed on the hill areas, the banks of feeder channels, tank beds and porambokes. There is water scarcity due to failure of monsoons every year and the people are very much suffered to drinking water. Most of the water is drawn from energized bore wells.

Urban Poor

About 33,483 are below poverty line out of a population of 1,52,654. Majority of them are leading their life as daily wage labour, agricultural labour, seasonal labour etc. At present, there are 78 poor settlements in the town, out of which 60 are notified and 18 are non-notified.


The Chittoor municipality upgraded into a Municipal Corporation by merging 14 major Grama Panchayats from July 2012 onwards. Present population of the town is 1,89,332 as per 2011 Census( Present Population 2,03,625) consisting of 50 divisions and is the headquarters of Chittoor district.

The area of the town is 95.97Sq.Kms and The town is located within the radius of 18 km to 40 km to the Karnataka and Tamilnadu borders. The town is also a passing way to Tirupati and Tirumala from Chennai in Tamilnadu, Bangalore in Karnataka. The town is also connecting point by road to the famous Lord Varasiddhi Vinayaka Temple situated at Kanipakam at about 12 Kms away from the Chittoor town.

Palamaner Municipality is 6th largest ULB in the Chittoor district of A.P. it is spread over an area of17.76 Sq.Kms. With a population of 51163(2011 census). It is known for/famous for its crop of Tamota.
