Vuyyuru Municipality Details

Vuyyuru Nagar Panchayat is ULB in the Krishna District of A.P. it is spread over an area of 10.50 Sq.Kms with a population of 37777 (2011) census). It is known for / famous for its KCP Sugar Factory.It is located 50 Kms. From Capital City and 40 Kms. From District Headquarters. It was established as Nagar Panchayat in the year 2011. There are 4 zones/ and 20 election wards in this municipality.

Vuyyuru is town and a Nagar Panchayat in Krishna District in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Vuyyuru is located at 16o 211 37” N & 80o 501 46” E in Krishna District. It was upgraded as Nagara Panchayat wide G.O.ms No.575 MA, dt.28/12/2011. Godavari Kakinada Canal from Dowleswaram is passing through the town. The town is an extent of 14.88 Sq.Km.

Vuyyuru town, in general, has tropical climate, winters last from November to February, while summers last from March to June. The annual rainfall is 92.33 mm, most of it received during the months of August.

The population of the town which was …………………………. In 2001 increased to 37777 in 2011 with an increase of ….% in the last decade. The sex ratio is 994 Females per 1000 males. The literacy rate is 81.87 % ,85.70% of the male population and 78.00% of the female population are literate.

Vuyyuru’s economy is based on agriculture, mainly rice and sugar cane. The land is very fertile, and irrigation canals which draw water from the Krishna River crisscross the area. Drinking water is not scarce. A small dam and bridge were constructed during the British period on the main canal in the town.

KCP sugar factory is the first sugar manufacturing unit setup at Vuyyuru in 1941. It has present capacity of 7500 Tons of Cane per Day. KCP has a cogeneration plant which produces 15 MW of power per day

Tiruvuru Municipality Details

Tiruvuru is a town in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a nagar panchayat in Tiruvuru mandal of Nuzvid revenue division.

History

Tiruvuru has a special place in history. Sri Krishna Deva Raya has visited this place during his Jaitra yatra (Victory Voyage) of Kondapalli in 1540. 20,000 Tamil Jains were murdered by Veerasaivas in olden days

Governance

Tiruvuru Nagar Panchayat is the civic administrative body of the town. It was constituted in the year 2011 and covers an area of 27.67 km2 (10.68 sq mi).

The Nagar panchayat has a total of 20 wards, with seventeen wards reserved and three unreserved.

The reserved wards include general and women reservations in SC, ST and BC.The municipal chairman is M.Krishna Kumari and vice chairman is S.Venkata Narasimha Rao.

Economy

Agriculture is the main occupation. The Mango orchards are in abundant with Banginapalli, Totapuri varieties. These are exported to cities namely Dubai, Hongkong, London and Singapore.

Transport

Madhira is the nearest railway station to the village. It is administered under Secunderabad railway division of the South Central Railway zone. NH 30 previously 221 passes through the town, which connects Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh to Jagadalpur in Chhattisgarh.

APSRTC operates buses to various parts of Krishna district and to long distances such as Bhadrachalam, Madira, Khammam etc.

Mummidivaram Municipality Details

Mummidivaram Nagar Panchayat is IIIrd Grade ULB in the East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh it isad over an area of 31.11 Sq.Kms. with a population of 25355 (2011 Census). It is known for/famous for its Balayogi Temple.

Demography:

The population of the Town which was 23057 in 2001 increased to 25355 in 2011 with an increase of 10% in the decade. The sex ratio is 960 females per 1000 males. The literacy rate is 56.04%. 50.53% of the male population and 61.25% of the female population are literate.

Economy:

Mummidivaram is one of the important Commercial Centre in East Godavari District, being surrounded by number of villages whose activity is mainly agriculture.

The major crops cultivated here is Paddy. Other corps that are grown here are Coconut and Sugar cane.

The vegetation of most famous Brinjals, ladies fingure have its native here. Other vegetables include Chillies,Cucumber, Tomatoes, Sweet Gourd, Indian Broad Bean.

All types of leafy vegetables are grown here. The soil here is of mixed varieties making it suitable to grow many crops.

Bananas are extensively grown in and around Mummidivaram though its productivity declined gradually. Hence, there is busy commercial activity for the agricultural produce.

ONGOLE Municipality Details

ONGOLE is a city in Prakasam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The Municipality was formed in the year 1876 and was Upgraded to Municipal Corporation on 25.01.2012.

The city is one of the 13 municipal corporations in the state and also the Headquarters of Ongole mandal. It is the 13th largest city in the state by means of population.

LOCATION:

Ongole is located in the eastern portion of the Prakasam District at 15.5°N 80.05°E. It has an average elevation of 10 m (33 ft). Ongole is the Head quarter’s town of Prakasam District having located a good number of District and Mandal level Offices of the State Government.

There are 6 zones; 50 Election Wards & 36 Revenue Wards

TOPOGRAPHICAL FEATURES:

The town is located on the eastern coast of Andhra Pradesh at a distance of about 20 Km from the Bay of Bengal and lice between 15 – 30 and 16 North latitude and 79 – 80 East longitude. It is situated in the midst of rich agricultural lands which produce commercial crops like Tobacco, Cotton, Chilies and Pulses etc.,

The annual average rainfall 794.5 mm receiving both North-East & South – West Mansoons, results to high yields particularly for the paddy crop under wet irrigation inspite of untimely, unwanted cyclone causing heavy damage to the crops.

The town situated on the main Railway route of Howrah – Chennai, Chennai-New Delhi, and has connecting railway routes to Hyderabad. One of the major highway NH.5 is passing through the town.

HISTORY OF THE TOWN

Ongole District was carved out of three taluks of Guntur District i.e.Addanki, Chirala and Ongole, four taluks of Nellore Distict i.e., Kandukur, Kanigiri, Podili and Darsi, and two taluks i.e., Markapur and Giddalur of Kurnool District.

The District was constituted on 2nd February 1970, and was renamed as prakasam District with effect form 12-05-1972, in memory of the great patriot and popular leader, late Sri Tangutur Prakasam Panthulu, who was born in Vinoda Rayani Palem Village of this District.

It is one of the nine coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh

The District is famous and proud of its indigenous Bull called ‘Ongole Bull’.

Ongole bulls have unique and composite characters, which are of rare occurrence in other bulls.

They are large and massive in size with fleshy dewlap hanging in folds.

The ‘Semen’ of the Ongole Bull is being preserved and exported to some of the western countries.

The town is situated on the South Central Railway Grand Trunk line connecting Howrah and Chennai.

It is located on the National Highway No.5 connecting Kolkatta with Chennai cities and State High Way connecting Kurnool via Nandyala.

Being the District Head Quarters, it is connected with all the major towns and rural areas by a good network of bus services.

It is also a commercial center for Agricultural produce. From the surrounding village, the agricultural produce comes to the town for sale.

Cheemakurty, which is 20 Kms away from Ongole Town, is famous for Granite Industry, which is of superior quality, and being exported to other countries.

But, other Industries such as Industrial Estates, Agricultural Marketing yard for encouraging Industrial and Agricultural growth around the town.

Markapuram Municipality Details

Markapuram is a town in Prakasam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipality and the headquarters of Markapur mandal in Markapur revenue division. As of 2011 the town had a population of 71,092.

Geography

Markapuram is located at 15.73°N 79.28°E. It has an average elevation of 145 metres (475 ft).

Transport

Markapuram is located on the Thokapalli – Nadayal State Highway. Railway station is 5 km from town. It is a part of the Guntur division of South Central Railway division. The railway line from Vijayawada to Guntakal passes through this station.

Education

The primary and secondary school education is imparted by government, aided and private schools, under the School Education Department of the state. The medium of instruction followed by different schools are English, Telugu.
