How to Add/Delete Names in the Ration Card

We need to add new names to ration card in case of new born baby (you will need to get birth certificate in this case) and after marriage (usually the name of the wife).

We need to delete names from ration cards in case of death (death certificate required) and in case of marriage where the name of the bride needs to be removed from the current ration card.

• Submit the duly filled application form along with proofs/certificates like Voter ID Card, Aadhar Card (identity verification basically) and some residence proof• In case you are applying for changing the ration card address then you need to submit deletion/surrender certificate of previous location also (this certificate need to be issued by the competent authority)

• Once you have filled the application form correctly and have attached all other required documents, you can submit it to ration card authorities to get the receipt/acknowledgment number (you can use this number to track live status of your amended rashan card)

In case you have applied for addition of name in the ration card then it can be done on the same day (very probably) but for all other cases it may take up to a complete week for making the changes and issuing amended ration card.

Documents required for making changes in Ration Card Delhi

You need below certificates/proof for amending details in existing ration card in Delhi area:
• Birth/Death/Marriage certificate for adding/deleting names

• Copy of Aadhar Card Number or EID No. or NPR Number of the person whose name need to be added/deleted or modified

• In case of address change, you need to submit proof of new residence address. It can be a rent slip, water/electricity bill or Aadhar Card issued for new address (or any other equivalent supporting document). Food & Supply Inspector will verify your new address so please be careful while mentioning the new address. Please note that only the head of the family or newly announced head of family (if you want to change HOF details in ration card) can only apply for changes in the existing ration card.

4. You can use this website to apply for online rasan card only if you have either Aadhar Card or EID Number as your identity proof. In case you want to use some other document for the same, you are requested to apply online ration card through concerned Food and Supplies Circle Office.

5. So at this step I am assuming that you have read all the instructions carefully and have valid Aadhar/EID Number to continue with the ration card registration process.6. Choose the appropriate answer/option for the question “Whether Aadhar No. of Head of Family is available” on the official portal.

7. Once you are done with entering the details of head of family, you will be provided a link where you can submit details of other family members.

8. After entering details of all family members, choose option “Finish Member Entry”.

Documents Required for Delhi Ration Card

You need to have below documents for online/offline process:

• Duly filled ration card application form

• Old ration card copy or surrendered ration card (if applicable)

• Two passport size photos of head of the family. One photo must be attested by some gazzeted officer.

• Attested affidavit in case your old ration card is not available. Affidavit should clearly mention the details like your old ration card is missing and you want to apply for a new one.

• One identity proof

• If you are the house owner then you need to submit copy of house allotment letter, registration deed, copy of power of attorney for house purchase, house tax receipt copy along with other documents.

• In case you are a tenant you need to submit NOC issued by house owner along with rent receipt and ration card copy of the owner.

• In case you don’t get the NOC from your owner then you can request two of your neighbors to give inspector statement that you live in the house that you have mentioned in the application form.

Ration Card Fee and Time

You will have to pay between Rs 5 – 25 for new or duplicate ration card. I am not sure but I believe only APL card holders need to pay the ration card fee in Delhi. Please get it confirmed from your nearby ration card office.
